I'd suggest getting on the support site at Microsoft as a place to start. (http://support.microsoft.com) Do a search for Security in the Outlook client, not Outlook Express. I know it can encrypt e-mail on the send (client side encryption before it sends the e-mail over the wire). I wouldn't be surprised if Exchange has configurable security as well. It's a pretty robust server technology and should have this already addressed internal to the server. After all, one of the biggest selling points of Exchange/Outlook is the mobility factor. Hope this helps! Currently e-mail is provided from a central e-mail server (Exchange). The remote offices and mobile workers connect via Internet to the central Exchange server to send and receive e-mail. I am stuck with the Exchange server. The client is happy with Exchange and is not interested in replacing it. The solution must include the ability to encrypt e-mail to all employees as well as outside partners and must be as transparent as possible to the end user. Suggestions....
