In the meantime I found out that I just had to install the networkmonitor for my ISDN dial up profile. After that everything worked perfect, even with wincap 2.3,

if you're using windows xp, you should use wincap driver 3.0 alpha 4, then it will work...

I have tried that. Does not work with the Winpcap driver that I use (2.3).

well, just use ethereal (you need the wincap driver, there is a link on the ethereal website) and just follow your tcp/http stream
and ethereal will show you the output in plaint-text.

I would like to show to my manager that VPN is useful. My idea was to connect with our standard laptop (win2000 + pcmcia diva isdn card) to the internet, go to google and enter a search entry. I would like to log all of this traffic on the laptop and show him that I can see the word entered in google. Then I would do the same thing with VPN on and the traffic encrypted.
Unfortunately windump seems only to work on my ethernet card.
Since I want to do this scenario first with my ISDN card connected and then with a WLAN card connected to a hotspot in our airport I am searching for a sniffing tool for these cards that does the same as tcpdump/windump/ethereal for ethernet cards. Or is it possible to configure these tools (do I need an additional WinPcap or some other driver?)
