I don't see how this (which should help prevent local IP address spoofing) helps with ARP. ARP is only relevant within the local segment; the router only needs to come into play to handle inter-segment traffic. David Gillett

This has the router check the source address of incomming packets agasint the interface through which the packet entered the router.
