They won't write the whole thing with managed code. I've written about this myself
(http://www.eweek.com/article2/0,4149,1369199,00.asp) and the impression I get from
Microsoft is that they will use managed code wherever possible, but it's just not a
practical idea in some cases because the performance burden is too great. But the more
they write managed code, the more they can scrutinize the remaining native code, and in
the long term hardware performance gains lessen the penalty for managed code.
