Can't argue with the recommendations that have been made so far. Some
additional titles I've found interesting are:

* "Complete Hacker's Handbook" by Dr. K (Carlton)
* "Testing Web Security" by Steven Splaine (Wiley)
* "The Hacking of America" by Bernadette Schell and John Dodge (Quorum)

Also, the SANS Institute website is loaded with white papers and other
reading material for a variety of audience on nearly all security-related
topics. Go to http://www.sans.org/resources/ and http://www.sans.org/rr/

Subject: book recommendations

Hi All,

I'd like your recommendations on computer & network security books ranging
from books for the beginner in security
to the expert pro. I'd also like to know if any has read "Fundamentals of
Computer Security" by
Pieprzyk, Hardjono, and Seberry and if so what is your opinion?

I'm also looking for info on hacking, cracking, & the security of card
readers, tablet pc's, pda's, & windows ce.
Any add'l info, books, papers, etc. recommendations would be a great help.

TIA,
Kent
