Hi,

RHCE exam will include everything about the redhat version that the exam
will be conducted for. most likely it will be 7.3 right now ...

you are right the exam consists of three parts

part 1: consists of 4 troubleshooting assignments.. the examiner will give
you a box with redhat installed & with some tech problem like the system not
booting up, user not able to log-in, x windows not starting etc. you will
have 2 hours to complete all four of them.. this time will include the setup
time the examiner will take to create a problem in your allocated system. so
effectively you will have around 20-22 min to solve each of them. each
problem will be of 25 marks.

part 2: consists of 50 objective type question related to all aspects of RH
installation, administration, security, config file settings etc. if i
remember correctly its an 45 min or 1 hour exam of 100 marks.

part 3 : is about installation, you will be provided a RH copy over network
media & will have to install/enable ( approx 15 ) tasks like start system in
run level 5, deny access to user/group to specific resource, config
iptables, pam etc... 100 marks 2 hours ...

you will need to score 225 to pass. 75%

secret is in scoring 100% in part 1... will require you to know inside out
of all config files & services.

all the best

-)
