Some of my favorite sites / papers. This paper focuses on a description and analysis of the security standards described in the IEEE 802.11 and 802.1x standards, as well as some of the inherent problems with the security mechanisms http://www.sans.org/rr/papers/68/171.pdf Efforts to hide the SSID are at best half-measures http://www.icsalabs.com/html/communities/WLAN/wp_ssid_hiding.pdf Directory of Wireless Security Papers http://www.securestandard.com/index.php?c=36 Wireless Application Protocol (WAP): "What is it all about....How does it work" http://www.sans.org/rr/papers/68/148.pdf Wireless Application Protocol 2.0 Security http://www.sans.org/rr/papers/68/159.pdf Papers specific to War Driving and Penetration Testing Wireless Networks http://www.securestandard.com/index.php?c=53

I am doing a research project on 802.11i and am looking for good research papers on the subject. I have found it difficult to try and wade through white papers that are essentially advertisements to find any academic, informative papers. Specifically, I am looking at how 802.11i has addressed problems found in WEP and other security features that the protocol has implemented. If anyone knows of any good papers or of any websites that collect academic and research rather than propoganda papers, I would love to visit them. If you know of any other source of info on this topic it would be helpful as well. Thanks for the help!
