The most correct scenario to me, is to install 2 servers and replicate
information from the internal MySQL to the one housed on the DMZ. To
accomplish this I only need to open the correct ports on my 
firewalls. 

  More importantly, the communication is opened from the internal (trusted,
we hope) network to the DMZ, so you can continue to block ALL session 
initiation in the other direction.  A DMZ that can initiate communications 
to the internal network would be a Bad Idea.
