Is this over 802.11 or one of the cellular networks?

For a low cost solution you can use a combination of WEP/PPTP since both
of these are built into the Pocket PC OS. For a stronger level of
security you can opt for an IPSEC setup using something like the MOVIAN
IPSEC client which supports a wide range of IPSEC gateways. If you
require strong authentication, RSA provides token based login for Pocket
PC as well.

It depends on your budget and level of security you require.

Subject: POCKET-PC: HOW TO SECURE ACCESS FROM A POCKET PC OUTSIDE TO A
SERVER IN THE LAN

HELLO

We have an application that could use the Pocket PC as a
supervisor/adminstrator client of the application.

so we want to exploit this, and implement it in the the pocket PC
outside
the lan in order to admistrate application.

in that case, the Pocket pc sHould access a server in the lan.

i have 2 questions:

1.what are the possible ways that could permit the pocket PC which is
outside the lan, to access a server in the LAN?

2. how to secure this communication?
