Hey Granted Smartdefense is maturing, but thinking that it will offer complete protection is silly. Read this article http://www.linuxsecurity.com/content/view/119888/49/ A IDS setup will offer unmatched detail of your network, offer anomaly detection and allow you to correlate your logs. IMHO a good IDS will always have a place on a network. cheers Ivan On 3 Aug 2005 07:32:49 -0000, aner.sagi () gmail com <aner.sagi () gmail com> wrote:
Checkpoint smartdefense is getting better and NGX smartdefense is providing better HTTP protection. I think you can define smartdefense as "inline ips" , but i would not recommand to throw away snort yet. aner sagi. CISSP.
