To drift off the point slightly, one serious consideration you have if the
data is sensitive/confidential is the fact that it's sitting in a PDA in
someone's pocket. Even if the transport of the data is secure, how secure
is the endpoint, in this case a easily lost/stolen portable device? If a
nefarious ner-do-well gets hold of it have you lost the keys to the
kingdom?
