I agree, its a very powerful tool but you should configure it correctly before on the network subclasses filter otherwise you could scan and attack unwanted machines or other networks. Nessus could also break down sometimes PC Windows computers when scanning or attacking them. So make sure before you launch the nessus test attacks, which machines must be scanned or not. Otherwise you can still use a classical and powerful unix tool, nmap to scan opened ports. (http://www.insecure.org/nmap) Good luck for your exploits deployement... Cheers, Richard
