I can also really recommend the SSL Explorer Project. So far, I have not used it in a real production environment (unless you want to count my home network). However, it has a nice clean interface, a VPN client that downloads as a Java applet, a ton of features, integrates with AD, and is completely open and free. I believe it is still in a pre-1.0 Version however, so they are still adding a lot of new features with each release. This might not make it too suitable for an enterprise setting, at this time. I think, they want to offer a commercial support package around it in the near future, if they haven't already done so. One big advantage for private use: You can easily set it up to tunnel what ever protocol you want, through the SSL connection even to outside hosts in the Internet (very useful for those occasions, where outbound traffic is blocked on certain ports ;) -----Original Message----- From: Beauford, Jason [mailto:jbeauford () EightInOnePet com] Sent: Montag, 18. They have really made some nice advancements in the technology. If you recall the NEOTERIS group, they were one of the pioneer's in the SSLVPN industry. Juniper purchased them and are using that technology. It works quite well for us. Because SSL VPN technology is so hot right now, vendors are able to command quite a large cost for their appliances. If you are looking for something in the Open Source arena (to save some $$) check out SSL Explorer http://sourceforge.net/projects/sslexplorer/. It works quite well with similar functionality as the big name appliances. There is a nice support forum as well. Good Luck. No problems to date.
Hello List: I've been tasked with implementing an SSL VPN solution in
our corporate
network and I was wondering if any of you had any
recommendations and
experiences (good or bad) with the various vendors. I
thought of looking at
OpenVPN but wanted some guidance on this product versus
some other products
on the market. Thanks in advance. Regards, Ed
