Right-click the VPN connection icon in Network Connections, choose 
Properties.
Click on the Networking tab.
Double-click on the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) listing to open the 
properties.
Click the Advanced button and uncheck "use default gateway on remote 
network"

That should do it.
