Tor was designed to defeat traffic analysis.  Keep in mind that the exit node (the last computer the in the tor network 
before exiting) knows who your are. Client side scripting like javascript/java/activex (think firefox no script plugin) 
can reveal information about you.  There has been proof of concept for several side channel attacks on tor including 
compromised nodes or analyzing temperatures of computer hardware. Tor is better than nothing, but it is slow and it has 
to be implemented properly.
