Hi winsoc, The susceptibility of sniffing Telnet logins during a session doesn't have anything to do with the emulator itself. Telnet is insecure, period. If you need to truly confirm this, just use the 3270 Emulator and sniff the session to see what happens. Just my two cents, Ryan -----Original Message----- From: listbounce () securityfocus com [mailto:listbounce () securityfocus com] On Behalf Of winsoc Sent: Thursday, July 19, 2007 4:56 PM To: security-basics () securityfocus com Subject: 3270 Terminal Emulator - Telnet Logins Sniffing Hey list, can anyone confirm if 3270 Terminal Emulators which use Telnet to communicate (tunnel) 3270 sessions, are susceptible to sniffing? Ie. Is it possible to sniff the logins on that network?
