Aside from the fact that I find the term "Unified Threat Management"
misleading (since that kind of appliance takes care only of a limited
subset of threats): the implementation of a firewall concept is not
limited to a single device. As I explained earlier, a firewall may
include DMZs, proxies and spam filters may run on different divices than
the packet filters, etc.

A firewall is just what I explained it is. Which is far beyond being
mere packet filters.
