Another MSIA school you may look into is Dakota State University, I am a current student and am enjoying the courses quite a bit. DSU is an accredited NSA center with an online based program that can consist of 3 different focuses (Banking and Financial Security, Wireless and Network Security, and Internet and E-Commerce). I believe Wireless and Network Security requires on campus residency due to the labs however. The best part about DSU is that tuition for online classes is $290 per credit hour. -brandon -----Original Message----- From: listbounce () securityfocus com [mailto:listbounce () securityfocus com] On Behalf Of Mark Dy-Ragos Sent: Thursday, May 08, 2008 6:23 PM To: security-basics () securityfocus com Subject: Masters in Information Security/Assurance Greetings All, I'm doing some research on the different masteral degrees available for Information Security or Information Assurance. There seem to be so many different options and paths available that I'd like to solicit member feedback on the topic. Below is a summary of what I'm looking at: 1. My goal for now is to get good comprehensive education around relevant security topics. 2. There's a long list of NSA accredited centers listed here: http://www.nsa.gov/ia/academia/caemap.cfm?MenuID=10.1.1.2. What's lacking though is an objective review of each college's offering and the cost. 3. Price of the program is definitely a factor. I'm sure I stand to learn a lot from these programs, but are they worth the investment? Would love to hear the feedback of other members, especially those who have taken a masteral course.
