(Assuming x.509 PEM file contains -----BEGIN CERTIFICATE----- and -----END CERTIFICATE----- .)

If you are working in windows, simply rename the file extension to .der.
After that you can open it.If it is opening properly then the file seems to be structurally/syntactically  valid.

Subject: Validating x.509 PEM files?

I'm working with an HTTPS-related application that accepts a .pem file
as input. I want to structurally/syntactically validate this
user-provided input file. Can someone point me to a module or program
that does this?
