Hi all, I have a Buffalo WZR-HP-G300NH router that has an in-built VPN server. The server though only supports MSCHAP v2 128 bit. All the other options have the same protocol but with 40 bits. How secure is MSChap v2? I read the paper at http://www.schneier.com/paper-pptpv2.html And it seems that the security of the protocol is up to the password the user chooses. I presume I am better off building a VPN server using open VPN and deploying that through the firewall?
