By definition, vulnerabilities are what exploits are used on. Technically the keygen is the exploit since his
application had a vulnerability which allowed the cracker to create the keygen in the first place.

I disagree. a keygen does not need a vulnerability. In reverse
engineering, your only limits are your imagination and time you will
spend. Even though you code the perfect SN validation, it is always
possible to write a keygen. This is not like "No website is can not be
hacked." hacking always needs a vulnerability to exploit.

Cracking and creating keygen are like finding what's inside and
copying it. You can complicate things but it never guarantees no one
can find out your formula.

My comments above are not technical facts, but my personal comments on
the subject. I also think if someone can do reverse-engineering and
crack my application, I think it is OK for him to use my program
without paying, also people who take risk of viruses and download
cracks are not potential buyers for my program and I don't care if
they download and use cracks for personal usage.
