BTW...unified diffs are much nicer to look at. Was this just a Linux problem, or are other OS's vulnerable in the same way? Our FreeBSD box didn't seem vulnerable.
FreeBSD has some similar looking problems eg in rnetrc(). As to vendors. There have been bugs found but without the vendors source who knows. There is a generic resolv+ bug (trim domain overrun) I dont know if BSD has it. Alan
