The latest patch roll-out fixing this problem is for Solaris 2.6, patch ID is
105401-14, dated 6 July. It, and 103612-41 for Solaris 2.5.1 can be found at:

http://sunsolve.sun.com/sunsolve/pubpatches/patches.html

The current patch list for this problem by OS is below.
If anyone can verify that these patches DO NOT fix the problem,
post it and let's see if we can get it taken care of.

    SunOS 5.6 105401-14
    SunOS 5.6_x86 105402-13
    SunOS 5.5.1 103612-41
    SunOS 5.5.1_x86 103613-41
    SunOS 5.5 103187-38
    SunOS 5.5_x86 103188-38
    SunOS 5.4 101973-35
    SunOS 5.4_x86 101974-35

Allanah Myles writes:
This is another perfect example of why Sun should go back into the
hardware design and architecture business, and get OUT of the
OS/software business. Leave software design to real software
designers.

If anyone had actually bothered to look at Sunsolve or call Sun support
before jumping to rash conclusions they would have realised that Sun
actually fixed these problems some time in June - long before "George
Clooney" posted his diatribe on July 1st.

The only patch I have first hand knowledge of is the 2.5.1 patch, which
is 103612-41, but Sun assure me that similar patches are available for
other releases.

Please, can we have some rational thought on bugtraq?
