Dear Bugtraq and NT BugTraq readers,

I am not sure if anyone here is on Webtrends particular mailing list, so
here's one more tool to test and possibly add to toolbag :-)

Webtrends is best known for creating one of the most popular HTTP log
analyzers aside from the venerable Analog.

It might be a very interesting tool to investigate.

WebTrends Security Analyzer helps secure your intranet and
extranet by scanning remote and local systems to discover
known security vulnerabilities. Unchecked, these vulnerabilities
can be exploited to access, damage, or gain control of a device
and the data it contains. Information collected by WebTrends
Security Analyzer is presented in comprehensive reports and
through a dynamic user interface for drilling down on key
information in multiple ways. A description of the
vulnerabilities and their appropriate fixes are supplied with
every analysis as well as automatic links to the latest security
information from the relevant third party hardware and software
vendors. Inappropriate configurations or insecure applications
can then be resolved quickly before they are exploited.

WebTrends Security Analyzer is the only product built around
an open architecture called POST, Platform for Open Security
Testing. With the Security Developers Kit provided, you can
write your own security tests to address the latest vulnerabilities,
or risks found in proprietary applications and hardware.
Integrating new security tests is easy with our AutoSync
technology that automatically downloads updates on demand or
at scheduled intervals. Moreover, free AutoSync updates from
our new SecureTrends web site, www.webtrends.com/security,
will provide access to newly written security tests from
WebTrends and other third parties. All this means that you no
longer will have to wait for product updates in order to resolve
the latest security issues.
