Up until now URLs to the BUGTRAQ archives at SecurityFocus.com included the Message-ID as part of the URL. This meant URLs were extremely long and awkward in messages. I apologize this should have been fixed long ago. If you visit the archives now ( http://www.securityfocus.com/bugtraq/archive ) you will notice that at the bottom of each message there is a new URL. This shorter URL will allow you to link directly to messages in the archive. For example, http://www.securityfocus.com/archive/1/79440 links to the recent message by Richard Smith on Microsoft documents and embedded links. Please, when linking to the archives use these new shorter URLs. The old URLs which the Message-ID are still supported so there is no need to worry that old links might stop working. We've also have changed search engines. To put it kindly the one we were using in the past was rather lacking. The new one is much improved. Give it a whirl. -- Elias Levy SecurityFocus.com http://www.securityfocus.com/ Si vis pacem, para bellum
