XGL is great

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 A modern Linux is more secure, more pretty, and more usable than Windows XP SP2. Thsi is only to be expected, since modern Linux means "Released last week" and XP SP2 is showing signs of age, which is why we have Vista now. Built into Fedora Core 6, Ubuntu, and SuSE (and every other distro, with minor work), is a new graphics layer called XGL (or AIGLX), which allows for a much prettier user interface. For example, menus can appear in a blaze of fire, along with lots of other trivial effects. However, one effect that is extremely useful is that windows darken when they are not responding to Window event requests. I.E. you know immediately that your application is not responding as it should when it darkens. So when CANVAS is using 256 Python threads, I know it's not happy about it. This is extremely useful for both programmers and normal users. - -dave -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.2 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFFbavzB8JNm+PA+iURAoE3AKC+xIg0hzqmIt3Z5JSeUnU0D5DyRgCfVQQE yz2ldOnrWr8lkC4Oc9R1GvA= =si+8 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- _______________________________________________ Dailydave mailing list Dailydave () lists immunitysec com http://lists.immunitysec.com/mailman/listinfo/dailydave
