Day sent a letter to current and former students warning them that a file with their personal information was potentially viewable via the Internet. According to the letter, the file contained "names, addresses and social security numbers," but did not include "any driver's license numbers, credit card or banking information." The file in question was used in 2000 for providing students that attended in summer 1999 their grades. Since June 2002, the college stopped using social security numbers as unique identifiers for students and switched to student identification numbers.
