Members of an alleged tax return fraud and identity theft ring have
been indicted by authorities in Twiggs County, Georgia.

Sharon Chappell, 40, and Chasity Pitts, 34, were charged with
allegedly selling the names, Social Security numbers and birth dates
of prison inmates to Jackie Young Elvine, 37, who allegedly used the
fraudulent income taxes to receive refunds, Lt. Robert Rodgers told
Macon.com.

Rodgers said authorities have identified eight victims, with the
alleged perpetrators earning as much as $1,000 for each identity sold.
