California SEIU Hospital Benefits Clerk Sentenced for $1M+ Identity Theft

... Last Thursday, September 22, Mia Camille Garza, a former benefits
clerk for the California-based, and Service Employees International
Union-affiliated, United Healthcare Workers-West (UHW), was sentenced
in Sacramento Superior Court to 12 years and four months in prison for
stealing online information on nearly 30,000 Kaiser Permanente
employees. The thefts, thus far estimated at more than $1 million,
enabled her to shop at high-end retail stores and make a down payment
on liposuction surgery.
