The DJJ reported the breach to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement Friday after initially reporting the incident on Jan. 2 to the Tallahassee Police Department, according to a DJJ statement. The breach was reported to the FDLE due to the possibility of identity theft, the statement said. According to the statement, a mobile device containing youth and employee records was recently taken. The device, which was taken from a secure DJJ office, was not encrypted or password-protected. Agency officials said that more than 100,000 records may have been compromised and the agency is trying to determine which individuals have been affected, the statement said. _______________________________________________ Dataloss Mailing List (dataloss () datalossdb org) Archived at http://seclists.org/dataloss/ Unsubscribe at http://datalossdb.org/mailing_list Supporters: Risk Based Security (http://www.riskbasedsecurity.com/) Risk Based Security equips organizations with security intelligence, risk management services and on-demand security solutions to establish customized risk-based programs to address information security and compliance challenges.
