Jigawa Perm Sec Suspended over Security Breach

Jigawa state government has suspended its permanent secretary on
security matter for alleged subordination and possibly breach of
security; this is according to the information made available to
247ureports.com.

The suspension was announced by the secretary to the Jigawa state
government. It stated that the suspension followed investigation and
report compiled bythe office of the secretary to state government
saying that Alhaji Ibrahim Alhaji was found to be subordinate – and
may have breached the security of the state of Jigawa.

Findings by 247ureports.com indicate that the SSG, Alhaji Lawal Abdu
may have had other reasons behind the said sack. But an SSG’s aide
told 247ureports.com that the permanent secretary was discharged from
his duties for releasing what was believed to be sensitive information
to the public without the consent the SSG.

A reliable source close to special service office indicated that the
permanent secretary, Alhaji Ibrahim Alhaji had received a confidential
report from security agencies indicating that there may be an
increased threat of security breakdown or a planned attack in the
state. The permanent secretary – after having received the sensitive
information – failed to transit the information to the State
secretariat – but went on to transmit the information to select
persons in the public. In the words of the aide, “what happened was
the PS (permanent secretary) received a security report, so instead of
him to report to his superior, that is SSG, he sent the information to
someone else“.

When 247ureports.com contacted the state’s head of civil service,
Alhaji Mustapha Aminu, he confirmed the suspension of the permanent
secretary. In his words, “yes he was suspended for acting without
directive that is in subordination which is an administrative lapse“.

It remains unsure to 247ureports.com the nature of the security breach
committed by the permanent secretary. But feelers within the state
administrative circles point to a possible Jihadists involvement.
