I was contacted by Steve Brandon of the Department of Justice (Computer Crime and Intellectual Property div). He said that he was gathering contact points for subpoenas, and informational messages regarding computer crime. We made those points of contact within our campus safety organization, as they are staffed 24x7. And we are firming up the process to communicate information security matters back through the Information Security Office. Is this a good idea? How could it be implemented across higher education? What are obstacles or challenges for moving forward with this recommendation? Other comments or insights?
