Sandra: Glad you found the survey results helpful. There are a 3-4 sessions at the conference related to the infrastructures and options available to perform desktop analysis and the patching process. They might delve a little into policy as discussions develop. I am on a ResNet Security team that recently met with the Educause/Internet2 Computer and Network Security Task Force. We intend on pursuing security policy issues around this and other aspects that effect the support of student computing environments. At 03:16 PM 6/14/2004 -0500, Helms, Sandra wrote:
This is very helpful. A couple of our staff are attending the conference next week, and we are interested in policies that support the scanning of student machines (faculty/staff systems as well). If you have any information on policies at this point I would appreciate a copy - if not, hopefully that will be part of the discussions at the conference. Sandra J. The results of the survey are at http://www.resnetsymposium.org. We hope to conduct similar surveys in the future to assess security and other issues effecting support of ResNet environments.
