I seem to remember someone using lab facilities for SETI and being
charged with
theft of resources in the not too distant past....

| Any institution have a policy on whether (and what type)
| of computers can 'add' themselves to the World Community
| Grid Network (or the SETI or Distributed RC Crack projects,
| etc....)?
|
| Looks like they have around 15,000 members and 18,000 PCs.
|
| The group is certainly on the up and up (they are backed by IBM,
| their President is Zoe Baird and they are using grid technology
| from United Devices) but the fact that you download an agent &
| then allow it to run tasks on 'work' downloaded from a remote
| site makes me slightly uneasy (though spyware is far worse).
