We create the accounts like normal faculty/staff except we then change the group of the user to a different value. When the email address is recorded in our administrative software, the comment field is used to describe why this person has an email account. At 10:39 AM 8/15/2005, you wrote:

We have a specific format that we use for creating user accounts and we wanted to see if other Universities have a different format for these contractors to differentiate them from other accounts and so as not to conflict with every day user accounts.
