We got "googlehacked" as one person put it last year. All attempts to get Google via their website to remove the info failed. The school's public relations people contacted Google's PR people and explained to them what happened, and I'm not sure exactly what was said, but within 30 minutes the information was gone. ******************************************** Mike Maloney Sr. System Engineer Middlesex County College 2600 Woodbridge Avenue Edison, NJ 08818 Phone: 732-906-7754 Cell: 908-217-2086 Fax: 732-906-4266 Email: Michael_Maloney () middlesexcc edu ******************************************** -----Original Message----- From: William Custer [mailto:custerwl () MUOHIO EDU] Sent: Monday, October 03, 2005 4:02 PM To: SECURITY () LISTSERV EDUCAUSE EDU Subject: [SECURITY] Removing Files From Google cache Does anyone have advice on the best approach for removing files from Google cache or in dealing with Google to do so. They offer a web page of advice on how to do this, but it does not seem to work in a timely way. http://www.google.com/webmasters/remove.html Does anyone have experience or advice on how to do approach this.
