Business continuity and disaster recovery (BC and DR) are issues closely associated with the responsibilities of information security professionals. In the recent Current IT Issues survey conducted by EDUCAUSE (see http://www.educause.edu/eq/eqm06/eqm0622.asp), BC/DR were identified as the fourth most important strategic issue by IT leaders (with security and identity management being the number one issue of importance). Accordingly, you will be seeing more programming and resources in the coming months that is designed to address this critical issue for institutions of higher education. One such opportunity will be the next EDUCAUSE Live! Web seminar, "Going Beyond Recovery to Continuity: Lessons Learned", featuring David G. Swartz, Vice President and CIO at The George Washington University. The seminar will be held on September 6th at 1 p.m. ET.
