It is possible to created pre-configured installation packages with Thunderbird 2 that will only require end-users to enter their name and userid to set up an account. I have created packages for both Windows and OS X using the Thunderbird ISP hooks (http://developer.mozilla.org/en/docs/Thunderbird_ISP_hooks). Not only was this helpful for Faculty/Staff but it was also nice for the techs, as they did not have to go through all of the settings each time they had to create an account on a machine. Jim Schwar
