The GIAC Security Essentials course will be offered on the University of Illinois campus in Urbana, Illinois starting August 2nd, 2008. The course will be taught mentor style with classes offered for 10 consecutive Saturdays from August 2 - October 4, 2008. This is your opportunity to maximize your training time and turbo-charge your career in security by learning the full SANS Security Essentials curriculum needed to qualify for the GSEC certification. In Security 401 you will learn the language and underlying theory of computer security. At the same time you will learn the essential, up-to-the-minute knowledge and skills required for effective performance if you are given the responsibility for securing systems and/or organizations. Detailed descriptions of these courses are available on the SANS site at: www.sans.org The course will be taught by me (John bambenek), one of the handlers at the SANS Internet Storm Center (http://isc.sans.org). For complete program details, see: http://www.sans.org/mentor/details.php?nid=12539 To register, go to: http://www.sans.org/registration/register.php?conferenceid=12539 For questions or if you are interested in attending, please contact John Bambenek at jbambenek () sans org
