I am wondering whether or not other university's allow their on-campus students who live in the dorms obtain 3rd party Internet service?
Not broadband, but they were perfectly free to use their campus phones to dial up 3rd party ISPs. I highly doubt that anyone ever took that route since those were toll calls. The justification is the same used when departments/schools ask about getting a 3rd party ISP connection - there was a mandate from the President's Office saying that all University-owned buildings must have voice and data services provided through central IT. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: 9.8.3.4028 wj8DBQFIst1YDlQHnMkeAWMRAmJTAJ42PWIMoik+NIQ30o8VtWhFTChDUACeKEuW 7X6d5AkzcNxJW85Gma6l/9E= =X83o -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- Julian Y.
