We are in the process of researching database monitoring tools, but both our DBA group and our management team are asking for resource estimates before proceeding with evaluations. Our goal is to monitor 5 databases (mix of Oracle and SQL server). * Is anyone using a tool to monitor database activity (i.e. DB Audit Expert, Mantra by Netezza, Guardium, DB Protect, Application Firewalls, etc.)? * If so, would you mind sharing what tool you are using? * How many minutes or hours per day do you spend reviewing database activity (i.e. 10 minutes, 30 minutes, 2 hours)? How many databases does this include? * Who in your organization monitors the database activity? The DBAs? Security Administrators? Someone else? Thank you in advance for any advice you can offer.
