Right now we're doing both outsourced spam protection through one of our ISP providers (Morenet) but we find the
service to be VERY slow at delivering messages (like, hours) and are looking at another solution. We also use a
Barracuda appliance that we've been fairly happy with, but it's far beyond it's expected life in terms of the appliance.

My boss wants to evaluate the IronPort appliance, and I'm also interested in Postini, but I'm concerned about the lag
in mail delivery with that service, since our previous experience with anything like it has not been good.

Subject: [SECURITY] Email Spam (inbound and outbound) and Malware Protection

We are polling members to determine how they perform e-mail spam and malware protection:

· How many outsource spam protection (e.g., to Postini)?

· How many perform spam protection in-house (e.g., using Ironport or Forefront)?

· In either case, what service or application do you use?

· In general, are you satisfied with your solution?

Any feedback is appreciated.
