I am thinking about making an effort to move most if not all of these responsibilities under one area. My question is, where do all of these responsibilities rest at your institutions?
Telecommunications and Network Services is responsible for the overall maintenance and operation of the system. This includes Tier 2/3 support issues from users that cannot be solved by the help desk, which handles front line (Tier 1/2) support, assistance with manual registration of devices, etc. The security team handles day-to-day operations as far as quarantining hosts, dealing with the users whose devices are involved in incidents. Our communications department is responsible for writing all the public facing content within the system. -- Julian Y.
