Not sure that this article is really news. And I wonder how confident people are in citing amount, or source, of 
increase. We've seen near constant "attacks" for years.

The good news about the Internet is that you can get anywhere.
The bad news about the Internet is that anywhere can get to you.
As bandwidth and connectivity grow, so do attack attempts.
