What is TIER and What Does it Mean for Me?

Have you heard about TIER (Trust and Identity in Education and Research)? Are you wondering which software packages are
included? Are there specific things you need to do with your IdM system to participate? And why is Internet2 doing this?

The January IAM Online will begin to answer those questions with an introduction and discussion of TIER - Trust and
Identity in Education and Research. TIER is both an identity and access management software suite and practice set
under development by the research and education community. Speakers will provide an overview of the objectives and
aspirations of TIER and the expected benefits for higher education and research organizations.
