We tend to ignore any requests that don't come through the official channel just because as you stated, there is a well-documented method on how these are to be processed. You may want to inform your provider of the official channels and proper reporting. You may also want to validate that it's an actual DMCA violation. They should be able to forward any requests from any recording agency if they're just passing it on. That might help clear things up. Hope that helps! B. One of the members of my networking team forwarded a copyright infringement notice to me this morning that was forwarded to us from our upstream provider, stating there was a site on our network hosting an acestream channel. My confusion comes in with how I should handle this notice. Since our Institute is registered, and active, as the Service Provider with copyright.org, all DMCA notifications are to be reported in accordance to the information on file. Every other DMCA notice we have received was sent directly to the address on file, or to someone else within the institute, this is the first time we have ever received notice from our upstream provider. The notice from our provider also states that they have opened a ticket and require feedback from our investigation. I still plan on addressing the issue, even though it wasn't reported through the correct channels, but I would like to know how other universities/institutes handle this. Typically I don't respond to any DMCA notice since we handle everything in house under HEOA, but since this is our own upstream provider, I am not exactly sure how to handle this. -Joe -- Joe Wallace, CISA | Information Security Analyst Enterprise Information Technology (EIT) ROSE-HULMAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY 5500 Wabash Avenue | Terre Haute, IN 47803-3999 Phone: 812-877-8790 wallace1 () rose-hulman edu<mailto:wallace1 () rose-hulman edu> www.rose-hulman.edu<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__www.rose-2Dhulman.edu_&d=DwMFAg&c=qKdtBuuu6dQK9MsRUVJ2DPXW6oayO8fu4TfEHS8sGNk&r=qFQzCTOmPXQnJcsnnqPUqQ&m=LFQh-BIH6Kp0wSCHKqVfczwVztZxZ47450wkMFwBMVI&s=kZ27Sr6whZ1uLSgiZIM_4DS_vCIjge88jWpuhUxeqAg&e=>
