You legal types on this security list tell me if this is true: ---Digital Millennium Act of 1998 --- (Passed Senate, in House for review) see http://thomas.loc.gov/, search for 'Digital Millennium Act'. Makes many security tools, services or discussions (even this list) illegal in that: "No person shall manufacture, import, offer to the public, provide or otherwise traffic in any technology, product, service, device, component, or part thereof that" ... "is primarily designed or produced for the purpose of circumventing a technological protection measure that effectively controls access..." "`circumvent a technological protection measure' means to descramble a scrambled work, to decrypt an encrypted work, or otherwise to avoid, bypass, remove, deactivate, or impair a technological protection measure" ______________ Makes firewalls (or firewall at ISPs) illegal in that: "(b) SYSTEM CACHING- A service provider shall not be liable for monetary relief, or except as provided in subsection (i) for injunctive or other equitable relief, for infringement for the intermediate and temporary storage of material on the system or network controlled or operated by or for the service provider: Provided, That--" ... "(4) such material is transmitted to such subsequent users without modification to its content..." "(6) such service provider does not interfere with the ability of technology associated with such material... " Bill Stout
