AIM 4.3 problems with HTTPS proxy?

Is anybody else getting reports of problems with the AOL Instant Messenger
"Buddy Chat" feature failing when using a HTTPS proxy?

I am not a big fan of AIM, but we cannot outright refuse to support it.

Users are reporting that the "Buddy Chat" and other features of AIM work
great when using V3.0.145. Due to the recent buffer overflows, we've asked
them to upgrade to the most recent release, V4.3.2229

Using the new version, configured with exactly the same proxy settings as
the old version, "buddy chat" fails and connections are sometimes dropped for
no reason. When the user goes back to the old version, everything works.

I submitted a bug report last week, no reponse from AOL.


I'm hoping that somebody else has encountered this problem and found a fix,
or can recommend a better contact at AOL to report this issue.
