The PIX is mainstream. It goes head to head with all the major vendors. I have two 525's in failover config and they perform flawlessly. My two 520's are still in use and are great too. I also have several 515's and IPSEC between several networks. I haven't had any major problems with hardware and any config problems have been solved via the TAC. Jason Lewis http://www.packetnexus.com It's not secure "Because they told me it was secure". The people at the other end of the link know less about security than you do. And that's scary. -----Original Message----- From: firewall-wizards-admin () nfr com [mailto:firewall-wizards-admin () nfr com]On Behalf Of Maddy Sent: Thursday, May 31, 2001 12:31 PM To: fw-wiz Cc: mwlalex () magix com sg Subject: [fw-wiz] PIX firewall Hi, Does anyone have any comments for Cisco PIX firewall (model 525) ? We have done a little evaluation with our limited knowledge and found that is functionally ok for our use. However, I am still not convinced how it would compare against "mainstream" and popular firewalls like Checkpoint FW-1 etc. Any comments would be appreciated. TIA !
