Hah! And what happens when you have a failing UPS in your system, attached to the Hospital network? The default installation on the UPS software sends out Windows messaging notices - "warning - power going down in 5 minutes" to the entire facility. Operating room, emergency room plasma screen... Generates a lot of support calls! -----Original Message----- From: firewall-wizards-admin () honor icsalabs com [mailto:firewall-wizards-admin () honor icsalabs com] On Behalf Of Karl Mueller Sent: Wednesday, June 16, 2004 10:55 AM To: firewall-wizards () honor icsalabs com Subject: [fw-wiz] Air gap comment Importance: Low Just a quick comment.. And I thought Paul was exaggerating about the mailroom guy being able to ping the CT scanner: "Cadenas said the VA operates under unusual security constraints with regard to medical devices attached to its network. Information security staff members, for example, have no authority to apply security patches to the computers that control medical devices. Unpatched computers are vulnerable to infections by malicious code - such as the recent Sasser worm." http://www.fcw.com/fcw/articles/2004/0614/web-netscan-06-15-04.asp Amazing.... _______________________________________________ firewall-wizards mailing list firewall-wizards () honor icsalabs com http://honor.icsalabs.com/mailman/listinfo/firewall-wizards _______________________________________________ firewall-wizards mailing list firewall-wizards () honor icsalabs com http://honor.icsalabs.com/mailman/listinfo/firewall-wizards
